The Rest Of 2007 - Moving On…
And we’re back…
I decided that I’m bored of the “best of 2007″ stuff and am ready to move on to some new albums. Before we do, I’ll recap my thoughts on the ones we haven’t covered here:
Avett Brothers – Emotionalism: Not their best album, but fantastic none-the-less. See these guys live at all costs.
Band of Horses - Cease to Begin: Very good but their first album was better.
Andrew Bird - Armchair Apocrypha: Like this one a lot. Need another 10 listens to really get a handle on it though.
The Good, The Bad & The Queen - The Good, The Bad & The Queen: Inconsistent but pretty fun at times.
Great Lake Swimmers – Ongiara: More of an ocean guy myself…
Iron & Wine - The Shepherd’s Dog: Over-hyped.
Kings of Leon – Because of the Times: Don’t love this guy’s voice but a pretty good album all around.
Ted Leo and The Pharmacists – Living with the Living: Really like the longer, less punk tunes.
Low – Drums and Guns: Not entirely my cup of tea. Not terrible though.
The National – Boxer: Fantastic album.
Oakley Hall - I’ll Follow You: Haven’t listened to it all that much.
Grace Potter & The Nocturnals – This Is Somewhere: Like this album a lot - the band is getting better and better. Grace Potter will be a star soon.
Radiohead - In Rainbows: I just don’t get it. I’ve given this 20 serious listens because it seems like I’m the only one in the world who doesn’t think this album is genius. Personally, I think that Radiohead peaked at “The Bends,” a top 10 / desert island album for me. Guess I’m just getting old.
The Sea and Cake – Everybody: Lots of fun.
The White Stripes, Icky Thump: Like the second song a lot. The rest is pretty good.

Missing from the list:
I also really enjoyed Wilco’s “Sky Blue Sky” and Ryan Adam’s “Easy Tiger.” The latter being my “most listened to album of 2007″ if not “the best…”
