Met up with a different group of friends after a long day of skiing and got talked into going to this show (glad we did) at Sherpa & Yeti’s. Lots of fun hanging up front with our friends in a cool, but very small, venue.

A few random thoughts:

  • This was my third time seeing the NMAS’s and their sound is as raw as ever. Loud southern blues from a power trio of talented musicians.
  • Chris Chew, the bass player, may be the biggest man in rock-and-roll. His long-neck, five string bass looked like a toy hanging around his neck. I also enjoyed how he had at least 6 or 7 different types of beverages (instead of just the usual water or beer) lined up on his amp to keep himself hydrated during the show.

(Note the normal size man standing next to him)

  • Sherpa & Yeti’s was a fun place but was way oversold and it was tough to move around. I’d like to check this place out again with a smaller crowd.

Breckenridge - 3/3/07

Great day up at Breck with a group of Boston friends who are skiing there all week. A little bit cold but the snow was great and we all had a fun day making laps on the lift over on Peak 10.
